Dimensional Reductions for the Computation of Time-Dependent Quantum Expectations

چکیده
We consider dimension reduction techniques for the Liouville-von Neumann equation for the evaluation of the expectation values in a mixed quantum system. We describe several existing methods that have appeared in the literature, showing the failure of them when the system is scaled up. We introduce a new method termed DEC (Direct Expectation values via Chebyshev) based on evaluation of a trace formula combined with a direct expansion in modified Chebyshev polynomials. This reduction is highly efficient and does not destroy any information. We demonstrate the practical application of the scheme for a nuclear spin system and compare with popular alternatives. In nuclear spin dynamics the main goal for simulations is being able to simulate a system with as many spins as possible, for this reason it is very important to have an efficient method that scales the least with respect to the number of particle. This method may be applied to autonomous quantum problems where the desired outcome of quantum simulation, rather than being a full description of the system, is only the expectation value of some observables.

Time-Dependent Real-Space Renormalization Group Method
In this paper, using the tight-binding model, we extend the real-space renormalization group method to time-dependent Hamiltonians. We drive the time-dependent recursion relations for the renormalized tight-binding Hamiltonian by decimating selective sites of lattice iteratively. The formalism is then used for the calculation of the local density of electronic states for a one dimensional quant...
متن کاملThe Effect of Exchange-Correlation Holes on the Temperature Dependent Dynamic Dielectric Function of Single-Layer Quantum Wells and Coupled Nanolayers
In this paper, for the first time we have studied theoretically the effect of exchange-correlation holes around electrons in GaAlAs/GaAs/GaAlAs nanostructure on the temperature-dependent dynamic dielectric function of two-dimensional electron gas by employing random phase, STLS and Hubbard approximations. Also, we have investigated another interesting system which is coupled quantum wells struc...

متن کاملAnalysis of Planar Microstrip Circuits Using Three-Dimensional Transmission Line Matrix Method
The frequency-dependent characteristics of microstrip planar circuits have been previously analyzed using several full-wave approaches. All those methods directly give characteristic of the circuits frequency by frequency. Computation time becomes important if these planar circuits have to be studied over a very large bandwidth. The transmission line matrix (TLM) method presented in this paper ...
